The next SHIFNet MEETING takes place on Wednesday 17th January 2018 at the Apollo Hotel Basingstoke.

This twice yearly meeting is aimed towards all members of the nutrition support teams working in hospitals in the Southern region. It is organised by the Southampton Nutrition Support and Intestinal Failure team and aims to provide a mixture of talks and workshops encompassing a broad range of topics related to the management of patients on home parenteral nutrition (HPN). The meeting is also a forum to provide updates on activity and outcomes in the region, as well as highlighting areas of practice which would benefit from further education and support.

Southampton Intestinal Failure Masterclass

The annual Southampton Intestinal Failure Masterclass was first held in March 2017 It is a multidisciplinary evening meeting with presentations by national experts in the field of intestinal failure. The meeting is followed by dinner and is an opportunity for sharing experiences and supporting everyone involved in the care of this complex group of patients in our region. We were thrilled that Dr Simon Gabe (St Mark’s, London) and Professor Gordon Carlson (Salford Royal, Manchester) joined us for the inaugural meeting giving talks on the medical and surgical management of intestinal failure. The next Masterclass will be held in March 2018 and details will published here when available.
